Superb gem of a hotel, great location, fabulous food & friendly staff! We spent 3 nights and loved everything about our stay: got to our rooms & found a delicious chocolate cake made especially for our anniversary! Petra worked some magic & had a very very nice room for us- much appreciated! Staff noticed at check in we had CPAP machines & a gallon of distilled water was waiting in room- awesome! Fabulous breakfast menu as well- the Chef is a treasure- delicious food with Pamela providing super service. Thanks to David at the door for putting up with us & his great stories.Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations- highly recommend this hidden jewel!

Everything was luxury from the moment you reach the front steps. The experience we had at this hotel was like no other. The hotel itself is gorgeous as is the bar and our room. Our room had heated flooring in the bathroom and a view of Edinburgh castle. The hotel staff were super helpful and thought of everything for us. They were great about dietary requirements and recommendations. I can see why this hotel has a Michellin key. The food was also amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent here thanks to the beautiful amenities and the incredible staff. Regarding location the hotel is centrally located near everything you could want to visit and we walked virtually everywhere. Would for sure stay here again. Highly recommend.

Stunningly designed property that manages to be outshined by the welcoming, thoughtful staff. A weekend here was an absolute dream that I was loathe to wake up from. The rooms are well-appointed (bathrobes you want to stay in all day) and deeply peaceful, even when facing the bustling Princes St. The 2nd floor lounge area is NOT to be missed, and worth spending a whole day in. Breakfast was the standout meal for me (options well beyond the standard continental, and wonderfully flavored), but I loved the afternoon cream tea and evening spent tasting some of the remarkable whiskey collection as well. Above all the hospitality really shone for me. I felt acknowledged and remembered at every turn, encouraged to make myself at home in a way that felt very genuine. Surrounded by elegance but not pretention made the whole stay feel quite magical, and I look forward to my next stay.

It was the best customer service, it was almost disturbing how kind and polite they were lol. I stayed in 3 different hotels in Edinburgh and this was the best in terms of location, staff, and quality sleep here. Only thing missing is a gym + sauna, I was going to knock a star bc of it but then I remembered they knew about my rough plane ride and had my room ready super early for me.

This hotel was absolutely stunning! The staff was amazingly attentive to my needs. I was always greeted coming in, and the door man was delightful to speak with. From the moment I checked in, I felt like I was in good hands. The turn down service at night was excellent, the little chocolates were a highlight! The staff working at The Wallace always took great care of me, I enjoyed breakfast there twice and both times loved it. I can’t recommend this place enough, I truly felt like royalty staying here.

100 Princes Street is a masterclass in Scottish hospitality—historic, luxurious, and deeply personal. Our stay was the best hotel experience we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, greeted warmly by Dave at the door, we knew we were in for something special. Every staff member—Sean, Pariah, Chris, Harry, and many others—treated us like old friends or cherished family. Their genuine conversations and attentive care made our time in Edinburgh unforgettable. Set in a beautifully restored Victorian townhouse, 100 Princes Street has a rich legacy dating back over 150 years. Originally home to Lady Rosemary Clerk and later transformed into Dejay’s Hotel and the Windsor Hotel, the building has long been a beacon of hospitality in the heart of Edinburgh. Today, it stands proudly as part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, blending heritage with modern elegance. Our room was a peaceful retreat, quiet and comfortable. The common areaes, and possibly some rooms, offer stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. The interiors reflect Scotland’s Gothic chic—tartan, velvet, and whimsical murals that celebrate exploration and history. Afternoon tea was a delight, and our meals at The Wallace were truly 5-star—refined yet relaxed, with flavors that matched the setting’s elegance. The location couldn’t be better. Nestled on Princes Street, the hotel overlooks Princes Street Gardens and is just steps from Edinburgh Castle, the Scott Monument, and the National Gallery of Scotland. Whether strolling through the gardens or exploring the Royal Mile, everything is within easy reach. What sets 100 Princes Street apart isn’t just its beauty or location—it’s the warmth and sincerity of the staff. Every detail, from the thoughtful room touches to the personalized service with everyone addresssing us by our names, reflects a deep commitment to guest experience. If you’re looking for a hotel that combines historic charm, luxurious comfort, and unparalleled hospitality, 100 Princes Street is it. We left feeling not just pampered, but truly cared for. We look forward to a return stay.

Our stay at 100 Princes was nothing short of spectacular, largely thanks to the incredible team at this hotel. The attention to detail is unmatched—specifically regarding my aunt’s gluten allergy, which the staff managed flawlessly without ever needing a reminder. From the lovely gentleman who assisted with our luggage to the concierge team who seamlessly handled our 'needy' requests (including package deliveries and sourcing a Dyson Airwrap), every interaction was delightful. The rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable, but the dining room's view of the castle is the true showstopper. We will definitely be back!"

My husband and I had the most incredible stay at 100 Princes Street. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and personalized. The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant Scottish-inspired design and a boutique, intimate feel that was perfect for a romantic trip. Our room was beautiful and impeccably kept, with luxurious bedding. We loved the cozy lounge for evening cocktails and the exceptional breakfast each day and an unforgettable view of Edinburgh Castle that made every morning feel magical —it truly felt like a special retreat in the heart of the city. The location is unbeatable, an easy walk to Old Town, the Royal Mile, and great shopping and dining. 100 Princes Street exceeded every expectation and made our getaway truly memorable. We can’t wait to return.
